VIPs (Very Important Persons) Monitoring
AttackMetricx provides a dedicated capability for monitoring VIPs (Very Important Persons) executives, board members, politicians, or other high-profile stakeholders. These individuals represent prime targets on the dark web, as their credentials, communications, and personal data can be exploited for corporate espionage, financial fraud, identity theft, or reputation damage.
By continuously tracking VIP-related identifiers across breach databases, marketplaces, underground forums, and ransomware leaks, AttackMetricx ensures that organizations gain early visibility into potential compromises before they escalate into business-impacting incidents.
How to Add a VIP for Monitoring
AttackMetricx makes it straightforward to register and track new VIPs:
Navigate to the Identifiers → VIPs.
Click Add a new Identifier.
In the Add a New VIP Member form, fill in:
Name & Role (e.g., CEO, Board Member, Politician)
VIP Level → assign 1–3 stars to reflect sensitivity and monitoring priority.
Usernames, Emails, Passwords, Phone Numbers, IPs, Keywords → identifiers linked to the VIP.
Click Save Changes to activate monitoring.
Example Use Case
If the CEO of example.com is added as a VIP:
AttackMetricx will monitor for their email, credentials, or personal identifiers across the dark web.
Any match (e.g., email in a breach, leaked password, or mention on a forum) will trigger an immediate alert.
Security teams receive real-time context with severity scoring, enabling rapid mitigation before adversaries weaponize the exposure.
Why It Matters – VIPs
High-value individuals such as executives, government officials, board members, and public figures are prime targets for adversaries. Compromise of their data often results in high-impact breaches due to their elevated privileges and influence.
Targeted Attacks → Adversaries frequently exploit exposed VIP credentials in spear-phishing, whaling, or BEC (Business Email Compromise) campaigns.
Reputation Risk → A single leaked executive email or phone number can damage corporate reputation and undermine stakeholder trust.
Lateral Movement → Attackers use VIP accounts as initial footholds to pivot deeper into the organization.
Regulatory & Compliance Impact → Exposure of board-level or executive PII can trigger compliance violations under frameworks like GDPR, PCI-DSS, or HIPAA.
